Lucrarea de faţă are ca temă studiul rocilor carbonatice din zăcământul de la Bistriţa, din calcarele jurasice din Masivul Buila-Vânturariţa în sensul identificării posibilităţilor de valorificare economică a acestora. În sedimentarul Masivului Buila-Vânturariţa nu s-au făcut până acum decât studii de stratigrafie şi paleontologie, abordarea sedimentologică încercând să aducă lucruri noi în cunoaşterea zonei.
