Description:

It’s a short trail, with no difficulties, that connects the valleys of Bistriţa and Costeşti rivers, on a tractor road. It is much easier to start from Costeşti valley, as that is 200 m higher than the Bistriţa valley.

The trail starts from the forestry road on Bistriţa valley, 100 m upstream from the fruit collecting center. Walking up is hard, close to the valley of Târniciorului spring, although you go up on the road, because the slope is rather abrupt. You go up for 30 minutes, the beginning and the end of the trail being set right on the boundary zone of Buila-Vânturariţa National Park, marked by the white-framed red square. As you get close to the ridge, the slope smoothens and you get to the top close to a water tower, where it intersects trail no. 2 (you’ll see the route pointer), marked by the blue line, that goes up to the Bistriţa village, passing by Arnota and getting to the main ridge of Căpăţânii Mountains. From that point, you can get down immediately (100 m) to Costeşti valley.
